Institute of Art Studies grants temporary online access to its rare and/or expensive books

Easter_cycleWhat with the COVID-19, strict social distancing measures, closure of cultural and educational institutions, the Institute of Art Studies, BAS grants temporary online access to its rare and/or expensive books at http://artstudies.bg/?page_id=12195&lang=en. These low-circulation books deal with Bulgaria’s and world culture and arts, they are lavishly illustrated and intended for experts, but researchers believe that they will help you cope with self-isolation.
Some of the Institute’s books are on Christian art and the online access to them is associated with the coming Easter holidays. In this context, Prof. Emmanuel Moutafov, Director of the Institute reminds that John Chrysostom said that a man in need, who cannot go to church, may make himself an altar to pray at it and John Chrysostom’s words that ‘the altar on which the holy sacrifice is celebrated can be contemplated everywhere, in the street and in the open squares’.
This is the reason why Prof. Moutafov recommends to celebrate Easter at home making yourself an altar of the pure faith, read and save lives, especially those of the priest for they are not many.
