A second revised and enlarged edition of Kamelia Nikolova’s book, Bulgarian Theatre after 1989 and the New British Drama comes out

A second revised and enlarged edition of Bulgarian Theatre after 1989 and the New British Drama by Prof. Dr Kamelia Nikolova was released as the first edition sold out almost immediately back in 2013. Back then it was the first monographic historical and theoretical study on the development of contemporary Bulgarian theatre, which was one of the reasons why it was so popular. The book deals with the major processes, periods, trends, companies and eminent figures of theatrical practices during the years of political and cultural transition both as a subject matter in itself and in the light of the reception of new British drama in Bulgaria in the first two decades in the wake of the political changes. The second edition (455 pp., 60 ills.) keeping the content of the first, places greater focus on the analysis of contemporary Bulgarian theatre.
