Prof. Romeo Popiliev publishes a new book

A new book by Prof. Romeo Popiliev, DSc, Department of Drama, Censorship under Communism or the Banning/Allowing Mode came out. The study focuses on the period 1944–1989, broaching dramatic texts by famous authors that have been either banned or allowed with great difficulty for a short spell to be put on stage in a period defined by some as socialism and by others as communism. A bigger question is raised about the institutional acts of censorship as well as about the communist authorities’ refusal to acknowledge its existence in this country.
