Prof. Nadezhda Marinchevska, PhD is a film historian and a long-standing researcher on animated film. She completed her Film Studies at VGIK (All-Russian State University of Cinematography), Moscow in 1983 and was awarded the degree of PhD by the Institute of Art Studies (1994), BAS, Sofia, joining the Institute in 1985. She led the Department of Screen Arts; presently, Deputy Director of IAS; appointed as Professor in 2012; teaches at NATFA (since 1992) and NBU (since 1998).
