The collection ‘Arts and Archives. Art readings Ι.2025. Old Art Module’ was published. The book contains research papers presented as scientific reports at the Art Readings International Scientific Conference, held in April 2025, which the Institute of Art Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences organises annually. The articles, authored by both established and young scholars from Bulgaria and abroad, focus on the study of a wide range of archival sources related to art across a broad time span – Antiquity, the Middle Ages, the post-Byzantine period, and the Bulgarian Revival. Most studies bring into scientific circulation a range of written sources, archival documents, and photographs, which significantly supplement our knowledge of artworks from the past with new facts and interpretations. The authors of the texts are scholars from prestigious research organisations, universities and cultural institutions in Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Poland, Romania, and North Macedonia.
