Cooperation between the Institute of Art Studies and the Sofia City Art Gallery

СпоразумениеOn 15 September, the Institute of Art Studies and the Sofia City Art Gallery concluded a three-year bilateral cooperation agreement, signed by the directors, Prof. Joanna Spassova-Dikova, PhD, and Adelina Fileva. The Sofia City Art Gallery is a museum with a long tradition, and for the last fifteen years, its policy has focused on research. This focus, along with its high-quality, memorable exhibition projects and publications on personalities, events, and processes from the end of the 19th century to the present day, gives the gallery a special role among related cultural institutions and a strong presence in public life. The Sofia City Art Gallery is an attractive centre for highly qualified specialists who work to rethink widely accepted historical theses and restore the historical memory of the lives and creativity of forgotten artists. As academic and cultural institutions, the Institute of Art Studies and the Sofia City Art Gallery have the potential to implement joint initiatives and practices that develop and enrich contemporary Bulgarian culture and academic activity. The agreement creates opportunities for knowledge exchange and the promotion of research projects, organisation, and participation in scientific and discussion forums and for the implementation of joint research and publications.
