Cooperation between the Institute of Art Studies and Georgian University Shota Rustaveli

DSC_7682On 10.10.2023 in Tbilisi, Georgia, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Institute of Art Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Shota Rustaveli State University of Theatre and Film Arts. The document was signed at a solemn ceremony on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Georgian institution by Prof. Andronika Màrtonova, PhD, Deputy Director of the Institute of Art Studies, and Prof. Giorgi Shalutashvili, PhD, Rector of the University. The purpose of the Memorandum is to establish fruitful bilateral relations between the two scientific units in the field of performing, visual, and screen arts, to deepen the cultural interactions between the Georgian and Bulgarian scientific communities within the perimeter of art history, Bulgarian studies, and Caucasology. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Shota Rustaveli State University of Theatre and Film Arts, the 16th International Conference "ART AND THE SOCIO-CULTURAL SPACE" (10–13 October 2023), in which Prof. Màrtonova took part. The celebrations on the occasion of the holiday were led by Prof. Nato Gengiuri, PhD – an art historian, head of the Department of Scientific Excellence, and Prof. Zviad Dolidze, PhD – a cinema scholar, Dean of the Faculty of Art Studies, Media and Art Management. The prestigious International Student Film Festival (10–15 October 2023) was also opened during the anniversary.
