Memorandum between the Institute of Art Studies and the Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznań
On 25.10.2023 in the city of Poznan, Poland, a Memorandum of Cooperation was concluded between the Institute of Art Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznań. The document was signed at a solemn ceremony by Prof. Joanna Spassova-Dikova, PhD, Director of the Institute of Art Studies, and Prof. Rafal Witkowski, DSc – Vice-Rector of the University.
The purpose of the Memorandum is to establish fruitful bilateral relations between the two scientific establishments in the field of visual, musical, stage, and screen arts, to deepen the cultural interactions between the Bulgarian and Polish scientific communities in the field of art history, Bulgarian studies, and Slavic studies.
Working meetings were held with Prof. Tomasz Mizerkiewicz, DSc – Dean, and Prof. Krystyna Pieniążek-Marković, DSc – Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Polish and Classical Philology, as well as a meeting with the Director of the Institute of Slavic Philology Prof. Anna Gawarecka, Vice-Director Prof. Izabela Lis-Wielgosz and Deputy Director of the Institute of Film, Media, and Audio-Visual Arts Prof. Marek Kaźmierczak.
The meetings were also attended by Assoc. Prof. Stefka Venkova, PhD – Scientific Secretary of the Institute and Prof. Wojciech Jóźwiak, DSc – a Bulgarian studies scholar. An important emphasis in the talks was the prospect of interinstitutional cooperation related to the National Scientific Program “Development and Promotion of Bulgarian Studies Abroad” (NSP Bulgaristika) in the direction of creating a sustainable partnership, as well as a network of researchers, including both scholars and lecturers from Bulgaria and Poland, as well as students, PhD students and young scientists with an interest in Bulgarian studies and their promotion.
