New Book
The monograph of Prof. Rositsa Draganova, PhD, Educator Musicians in the Post-Liberation Era, presents the work of the Czech musician Karel Mahan and the Stara Zagora textbook writer Georgi Baydanov against the backdrop of the dynamic processes in music education and culture in Bulgaria at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. The book outlines the specificity of their musical pedagogical approaches and the textbooks they have prepared. It also comments on the theoretical views and ideas related to studying Bulgarian folk music and church practice. The book includes detailed information about the publications of the two educators and their compositional attempts. Various literature was used, including archival sources and periodicals from the post-liberation era.
