PROF. EMANUEL MUTAFOV, DSc, FROM THE INSTITUTE OF ART STUDIES, BAS, WAS ELECTED VICE PRESIDENT OF THE BULGARIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES

On January 20, 2025, at a meeting of the General Assembly, three Vice Presidents of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences were elected. Among them is Prof. Emanuel Mutafov from the Fine Arts Sector of the Institute of Art Studies. Prof. Mutafov is a Byzantinologist, epigrapher, and art historian. In 2014–2022, he was the Institute of Art Studies director. He has over 150 scientific publications, seven of which are monographs. His writings have been published by publishing houses such as Cambridge University Press, Brill, Brepols, etc.
