Theatre Studies Seminar on 24 March 2025

The first seminar meeting of the year will be held in collaboration with the Scenography Section of the Union of Bulgarian Artists on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Hall 1 of the Institute of Art Studies.
The discussion is provoked by the belief that there are escalating problems at all levels in the theatre field. Although the need for comprehensive theatrical reform has been present in the current talks over the past three decades, this debate is not sustainable at the level of cultural administration and official public discussion.
The topic of the discussion will be the current problems of the Bulgarian theatre of an organizational, financial, and artistic nature. The purpose of the discussion is to recognize the current problems in the theatrical system and outline possible directions for its reform.
