On April 11, 2025, at 5 PM at the Institute of Art Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the monographic study of Assistant Professor Maria Miteva, PhD, "Art and Commission. Through the Artistic Practice in Bulgaria in the 1930s and the Beginning of 1940s" will be presented. The edition was realised with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture under the "Book Aid" program.
The conceptual understanding of the relationship between commissioning and artistic practice in the historical context to date, with the dynamic changes in the processes and technology of creating art, architecture, and design, makes the topic necessary and up-to-date. The study is undoubtedly a contribution – the first of its kind and the fruit of a long-term activity, it “illuminates” cases not discussed in art history about recognised objects of our cultural heritage and those for which we are obliged to acknowledge due to their long ignoring in the period of the People's Republic of Bulgaria. 
The scientific editor of the edition is Assoc. Prof. Arch. Elena Ivanova, PhD. The reviewers of the project are Prof. Arch. Stela Tasheva, PhD, and Asst. Prof. Vladimir Dimitrov, PhD.
