Scholars from the Music Sector with the Book of the Year 2025 Awards of the UBC

In the recently held annual competition for musicological works, Book of the Year, organised by the Union of Bulgarian Composers, a series of titles were awarded, realised by researchers from the Music Sector of the Institute of Art Studies.
The special award for monographic research was awarded to Assist. Prof. Diana Danova-Damyanova, PhD, for the edition “Sofia Music Weeks. Studies on the History and Present of the Festival”.
The book by Prof. Rositsa Draganova, PhD, “Educator Musicians in the Post-Liberation Era. Karel Machan, Georgi Baydanov”, received an award in the History of Music category, and the study “Reception of Performances of Traditional Chinese Opera in Bulgaria” by Assoc. Prof. Miglena Tsenova, PhD – in the Musical Theatre field.
The award in the Music Performance and Pedagogy category was awarded to Assist. Prof. Polina Antonova, PhD, for the monograph “Panka Pelisek and Her Pianistic School” and in the Research on Archival Materials field – for her published dissertation “The Archive of Dimitar Nenov. Systematisations, Interpretations, Analyses”. All titles listed so far are editions of the Institute of Art Studies. 
The book by Prof. Angelina Petrova, PhD, “New Music and Ideology in Bulgaria (1970s-mid-1980s)”, published by the National Academy of Music, received an award in the Music and Ideology category.
