Today, Prof. Elisaveta Musakova, PhD, celebrates her 70th anniversary. On behalf of the Institute of Art Studies, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Prof. Joanna Spassova-Dikova, PhD, sent a congratulatory address saying:
Dear Professor Musakova,
Please accept our warmest wishes on your 70th anniversary!
It is an honour for us that you are part of the team of the Institute of Art Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. As an internationally recognised scholar and a member of expert councils in Bulgaria and Europe on the study of manuscript collections, your presence at the Institute, and particularly in the research group on Medieval and Renaissance Art, is indispensable. Your studies on palaeography, codicology, and the decoration of the manuscript book have formed a part of the art studies conducted at the Institute, precisely through your authority as a scientist. With your multifaceted experience and specific, valuable competencies in the field of illustrated manuscripts, you have made an exceptional contribution not only to the development of art studies and, respectively, of the humanities in Bulgaria, but also to the preservation and promotion of our cultural heritage and national identity. We are proud that you pass this experience on to the new generations with your teaching activities on the phenomenology of the manuscript book and the art of the Byzantine world. We are pleased to follow each of your critical texts dedicated to events in contemporary artistic life, hoping that these manifestations of your high expertise will continue to delight us.
