Presentation of the achievements of the scholars from the Institute of Art Studies – BAS for 2025
In the pre-holiday days, the latest editions and achievements of the scientists from the Institute of Art Studies – BAS were publicly presented at the Institute. The attendees had the opportunity to get acquainted with the content of 10 monographs briefly; the complete set of issues of the two academic journals "Bulgarian Musicology" and "Art Studies Quarterly", referenced in ERIH PLUS; the two volumes of "Art Readings" "Art and History", indexed in Web of Science; a collection of reports from the Youth Scientific Conference "Art and Context", as well as the electronic edition of the Institute – "Art Platform". It was pointed out that in 2025, a total of 8 scientists from the Institute received scientific awards for their research, including two young scientists. The results of the work on seven collective projects with external funding from the Research Fund, under the National Scientific Program "Development and Promotion of Bulgarian Studies Abroad", under the project "Sustainable Development of the Centre of Excellence "Heritage BG" – "Interactive Maps of the Arts in Bulgaria", as well as from other sources, were also presented.
The Institute of Art Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences also awarded its annual Animated Heritage Award for special contribution to the creative interpretation of the traditions and values of the Bulgarian and world cultural heritage in a contemporary work of art. The 2025 Fine Arts award was presented to sculptor Georgi Chapkanov for his overall body of work.
