A collection dedicated to Prof. Bisserka Penkova has been published

РНТОРIССА_CoverThe ΡΗΤΟΡΙΣΣΑ volume marks the 70th anniversary of Prof. Bisserka Penkova – a scholar and lecturer who has contributed significantly to the development of art history in Bulgaria over the past nearly five decades. Prof. Bisserka Penkova is a researcher, associate professor, and professor at the National Academy of Art and the Institute of Art Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. She is a leader of fundamental research projects, a compiler and editor of numerous publications.

The unifying thread among the texts included in the book is the dialogue with the scholarly pursuits of Prof. Bisserka Penkova. For this reason, the thematic scope of the articles and studies extends across the broad framework of cultural and historical heritage, from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. The authors are experts from various fields across the humanities – art historians, philologists, restorers, and archaeologists from Bulgaria, Germany, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Russia.

The volume has been prepared by a team from the Institute of Art Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The academic editor is Prof. DSc Anna-Maria Totomanova (Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski”).
