A new monograph on the cartoonist Boris Dimovski has been donated by the ‘House of Humour and Satire’ Museum, Gabrovo, to the Institute of Art Studies – BAS

The ‘House of Humour and Satire’ Museum, Gabrovo, provided the Institute of Art Studies – BAS with a copy of the monograph ‘Boris Dimovski’, published on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the artist’s birth. The publication is the result of Krasimir Iliev’s research on the life and work of Boris Dimovski. The monograph was created in collaboration with the Museum’s team and with the support of people and institutions who preserve and share the memory of Boris Dimovski. The book explores important aspects of the Bulgarian cultural heritage related to caricature, visual satire and the civic sensitivity of Bulgarian artists. In 340 pages and over 600 images, the book presents the life and creative path of Boris Dimovski, as well as his significant contribution to Bulgarian culture and public life.

In a letter, the Deputy Director of the Museum, Nela Rachevits, writes: ‘We would be happy to have the donated copy entered into the library, archival, or departmental holdings of your institution so that it can be accessed for future reference, research, and professional work.’ In response, the management of IAS-BAS expresses its appreciation for the valuable gift, which will support scholars’ research and doctoral students’ preparation!
