THEMATIC PEER-REVIEWED CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS
ART READINGS – OLD ART MODULE
 
The editors of the Art Readings – Old Art Module series intend to present the volume in SCOPUS and Web of Science (WoS). Therefore, they must ensure that the full volumes and each article meet the rigorous criteria set before the annual thematic peer-reviewed indexed editions in the specified international scientific databases.
 
The first stage of selection and evaluation is carried out by the Organising Committee and the International Supervisory Board of the Art Readings – Old Art Module, which since 2015 have chosen to participate in the conference only the proposals for reports that meet the detailed requirements for participation: originality of the text and issues corresponding to the topic of the forum. After the conference participants present their reports, recommendations are made, and ideas are given for further development or deepening the research by the specialised audience during the discussion, which is the second stage of the selection. The third stage is the preparation of the texts for publication according to all the requirements of the edition, which are aimed at facilitating and speeding up the blind peer-review process. 
 
INSTRUCTIONS FOR PREPARING TEXTS FOR PUBLICATION

All materials should be sent by e-mail to: readingsart@gmail.com
The text must contain full details of the author and be formatted as follows:
Author Title and Name: The name must be accompanied by a first footnote, for example, Ivanka Gergova1, including a brief presentation of the author’s academic profile (in English), for example:
1 DSc Ivanka Gergova is a Professor at the Institute of Art Studies, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, working in the field of Bulgarian and Balkan Orthodox art (15th–19th centuries).
Length: not more than 28,000 characters (approx. 15 pages), including spaces. This length also includes footnotes and bibliography.
Abstract: below the title, an abstract should be added of not more than 100 words (600 characters) – in the language of the article, and also in English. NB: The abstract text must be different from the summary text.
Keywords: maximum 7, not repeating words/terms from the title.
Summary: not more than 900 characters, incl. spaces (in English for all articles).
Bibliography: The expanded titles of the cited publications are added after the main text, arranged in alphabetical order, according to the transliterated names of the authors in the order of the Latin alphabet, with the full scope of pages of the cited articles and studies (see BIBLIOGRAPHIC CITATION). Please use headings to separate Primary sources from Literature.
Illustrations: not more than 10, in JPEG or TIFF format (minimum resolution 300-600 dpi).
List of illustrations: in the language of the article; the list shall be indicated after the summary (see INSCRIPTIONS TO THE ILLUSTRATIONS). It is mandatory to indicate the source of the photo.
 
TEXT LAYOUT AND CITATION
The text should be produced in Word, whether for Mac or PC, in Times or Times New Roman, font size – 12.
Citation of Greek epigraphic and/or palaeographic material: use Palatino Linotype font or another Unicode font that includes all required characters.
Citation of Cyrillic epigraphic and/or palaeographic material: use CyrillicaOchrid10U font (font can be downloaded here).
Indication of dates: to use Arabic numerals for centuries in an English text – for example 17th, 18th century and Roman numerals in Bulgarian – for example XVIII в., XIX в. (or according to the standards of the respective language).
Quotes: In the articles in Cyrillic, use the Bulgarian version of the quotation marks „…..“, and in the articles in the Latin alphabet: “……..”.
Notes in body text: Notes should be formatted as footnotes. The index must be entered with an Arabic numeric superscript and precede and not follow the punctuation mark (… testimony13, / … testimony13. / … testimony13?). The literature used should be quoted in the footnotes in abbreviated form with reference only to the author’s surname, year of publication and quoted pages, for example: Gergova 2017: 5, ill. 1.
Abbreviations such as „Пак там“; „Същият“; „Цит. съч.“ / “Ibid.”, “Idem.”, “Op. cit.” should not be used.

When citing two or more publications by the same author, whether from the same collection or in the same year of printing, they are denoted by a, b, c, etc. according to the sequence of their entry, for example:
Vasiliev 1967а: Vasiliev, Asen. Образи на Климент Охридски [Obrazi na Kliment Ohridski]. Sofia.

NB: The city where the edition is printed must be written in the Latin alphabet – in transliteration or with the English version of the name. Publishers are not noted except in cases where no city is specified.
 
CITATION OF PUBLICATIONS IN CYRILLIC 
Please note that all Cyrillic author names should be transliterated into Latin characters. The titles should be given in Cyrillic and then transliterated in square [ ] brackets.

NB: All authors must ensure that the materials submitted for printing are formatted according to the guidelines. The responsibility for the linguistic and stylistic qualities of the articles lies entirely with their authors. We strongly recommend that all texts not written in the mother tongue be read and corrected by a native speaker or a philologist. 
Submissions failing to meet the deadline and/or the guidelines outlined above will be rejected.
 
The editors will notify the contributors of the peer-review process results by October 1 of the same year.
