Two Awards for Publications of Young Scientists from the Institute of Art Studies
In the annual competition of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences for the best publication of young scholars, two representatives of the Institute of Art Studies were awarded. Ch. Assist. Prof. Natasha Noeva, PhD, and doctoral student Iveta Chelebieva were awarded second place in the competition. The 2025 Humanities and Social Sciences Prize is named after Acad. Nikolay Kaufman, in connection with the 100th anniversary of his birth.
Natasha Noeva was awarded for her article on "Art Galleries in the 1950s in Bulgaria – Spaces and Layout", published in the second issue of 2025 of the journal "Art Studies Quarterly", a refereed edition of the Institute of Art Studies and the only academic journal in Bulgaria in the field of fine arts, theatre, and screen arts. The award-winning article by Iveta Chelebieva is "Art and Power. From the Socialist Legislation in the Field of Fine and Applied Arts in Bulgaria for the period 1958 – 1971", which was also published in the second issue of 2025 of the journal "Art Studies Quarterly".
The awarded young scholars received their certificates on 12 December 2025 at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences from Corr. Member Evdokia Pasheva, Deputy President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, in the presence of colleagues and relatives.
The competition for the best publication in the field of natural-mathematical and humanitarian-social sciences is held for the fifth consecutive year, thanks to Academic Krasimir Atanasov, DSc, who is the founder and donor of the award.
