Two Awards for Publications by Young Scientists from the Institute of Art Studies

In the annual competition of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences for the best publication by young scientists, PhD student Kalina Tomova and Principal Assist. Prof. Darina Boykina, PhD, were awarded. The 2023 Humanities and Social Sciences Prize is named after Nayden Gerov on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of his birth. Kalina Tomova received the first prize for the article “The Adaptability of English Aria: Secondary Polyphonizing Techniques in Thomas Campion’s Two Books of Ayres” in the peer-reviewed academic journal Early Music (Oxford University Press). Darina Boykina received the second award for the study “Mother-of-pearl souvenirs from the Holy Land in Bulgaria” in the collective monograph “Prayer Journeys of the Bulgarians during 18th–19th Centuries and Art”, published by the Institute of Art Studies. The winners received their certificates on December 13 at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences from corr.member Evdokia Pasheva, in the presence of the chairperson of the scientific jury Academic Krasimir Atanasov, DSc, colleagues, and relatives.
